What kind of internet connection do I need?

Any broadband connection will work (DSL, Cable or T1)

How many cameras will my internet connection support?

The quantity of cameras supported by an internet connection is only dependent on the amount of upload bandwidth at the location. As a general rule, each camera will require approximately 70Kb

What if my application requires more than 6 cameras?

Depending on the amount of bandwidth you have, your present broadband connection may very well support 6 cameras. Should you need additional bandwidth, contact your ISP for an upgrade

Will my internet connection be affected by having cameras on it?

The camera system uses the upload side of your bandwidth. Since the majority of end-users are utilizing the download side (surfing the web, downloading files, etc) you should not notice any slowdown

My employer won't allow me to install Active X. Is there a "work around"?

Active X is a required component today. We are in the final stage of a software update which will no longer require Active X to be installed

Will cameras transmit over a cellular broadband?

Yes.

Can I view live and recorded video on my mobile phone, PDA, etc?

Yes. This is dependent on the type of device and the service plan you have with your carrier

Do I need a static IP address?

No

How many cameras can I display at one time?

You can connect to an unlimited number of cameras at one time and view live as well as recorded video

Can I see more than one location at a time?

Yes. You can connect to an unlimited number of locations at one time

What happens if I lose my internet connection?

An "automatic alert" is immediately generated and sent via text message and / or email to you

How many people can view cameras at the same time?

A maximum of 99

Can users have different authority levels?

Yes. Your dealer will work with you to customize "who can perform what functions"

How do I install the software?

There is no software to install, maintain or update

How often are software updates required?

Since no software is installed on your local computer, updates are not necessary

How long is the video archived?

We archive (store) video for as few as 3 days, and as long as 60

What if I forget my username or password?

We do not give out usernames or passwords. If you forget yours, there is an identification process we follow to re-set them

Do I need any devices other than my router and modem?

To utilize analog cameras, you'll need an Analog to Digital converter

If I forget how to do something, how do I get assistance?

Technical support is provided Mon-Fri, 8AM-6PM Central Time through a toll-free number

Will the service work with my alarm monitoring center?

Our technology is compatible with many monitoring centers. Check with your installing dealer to confirm

What kind of outbound alerts can I receive?

Alerts are available for devices (cameras, routers, modems and internet connections), motion detection, alarm sensors and alarm control panels

Which IP cameras are compatible?

Axis Communications and iSeries are presently compatible. An expanded list will be available in January 2010.

Should I have this even if I already have a DVR?

Absolutely. The service can provide safe, secure back-up for all or some of the cameras being recorded on the DVR, so should something happen to the DVR (fire, flood, theft or failure) you'll have the video you need stored offsite. It will also immediately upgrade your analog DVR to a Digital system

What kind of resolution is available?

Small (160 x 120), Medium (320 x 240), and Large Resolution (640 x 480) are presently available. Megapixel (1280 x 960) will be available in January 2010.

If the video is recorded 24/7 for several days, how do I find what I'm looking for?

How do I get a system quote and installed?

I have an older CCTV system with analog cameras. Will they work?

Yes. Any analog camera will work with the system

Is the video date and time stamped?

As long as the camera has the time and date function (most do) it will be recorded

Your video is recorded and archived in "fulltime" as opposed to video clips. What's the advantage to the way you do it?

You'll be able to see as much or as little of the video as you want. This is also a tremendous benefit in the event of a crime, as the police can review footage from anytime prior to the event
